Shamir recently discovered he is a highly sensitive empath. As a child, he learned to shut down when he experienced rejection and abandonment in order to protect himself from emotional trauma. Unfortunately, this approach also inhibits deepening relationships with others; feeling of rejection and abandonment is part of the process involved in building relationships. Shamir experienced abandonment and rejection a few days before this episode; instead of shutting down, he took a different approach - an approach which resulted in a graceful parting of a relationship that wasn't meant to be.
The most important aspect of emotional intelligence is self-awareness. In this segment, Shamir discusses how each of us broadcasts emotions on the heart-generated magnetic field which surrounds us with a diameter of up to 7 feet. Each of us can sense this magnetic field and become more self-aware of not only our emotions but of others.
